The Collision of Energy

Many cultures have different stories of the creation of Alara. One of the more common ones, named the Collision of Energy, tells the story of how, in the beginning, the 4 elemental planes of chaos were separate from each other. Just like it is to this day, they were places of raw energy and chaos. Each of the deities were birthed from this chaos and while some were happy with the state of reality, others wished to see this chaos calmed. So, an accord was created where the elemental planes would stay as they were but they would be momentarily combined to create the Prime Material Plane, the world of Alara.
