Trickle in the Sky
On another world, on another plane of existence, very different from the one of humans and dwarves live the Fey folk. Faeries and pixies and satyrs and elves, the Feywild is home to unbound nature. One settlement that exists there, known as Trickle in the Sky, is home to a collection of faeries. If a person were to find themselves in the deep, dark woods that this society exists within, they would feel evil and malice intent all around them as the woods exert its own force against the stranger.
To a faerie though, this place is beautiful and vibrant and alive. This place is home. Trickle in the Sky, from afar, looks to be a tiny little city of bird houses and spherical wooden creations with tiny little lights that dance throughout the area. One little tiny stream slithers through the village. It isn’t until a person enters into this tiny metropolis that they see further details. Tiny little gardens and farms and homes with faeries fluttering about along with orbs of colored light that carelessly float throughout the area, illuminating this little tiny piece of the deep, dark woods. Birds of tiny little appearance fly through the area, making their homes next to and with fairie families. Some birds of the feywild can be barely identified as such. Some have wings that look like metal with the sunlight catching off of them as they soar through the skies. Lizards of impossible speed and frogs that have psychadelic colorations to their backs move throughout the trees. Mice that are tiny compared to a fairie skittering through their homes searching for crumbs left behind. Trickle in the Sky is a tiny little microcosm of biodiversity and magic. A person wouldn’t have time to admire this beautiful little city though as the fae are chaotic and protective of their land. The person will soon be driven off if they’re not killed first.
It wasn’t always this way.
Long ago, the faewild had little interest in the Prime Material but when a portal was discovered close to a desert village known as Santalejos, the humans there found a resource that they could collect and sell. The lumber in the feywild is legendary and has helped to turn Santalejos from a meager little village to a grand city. This power and wealth is built atop the atrocities of war. Countless bloody conflicts have occurred between the military of Santalejos and the Fae who only wish for their nature to be left alone.
