Clansmen of Ethoria

The Clansmen of Ethoria have an extremely tragic history as far as tribal folk go. Nearly three thousand years ago the Kingdom of Ethoria encompassed Sanora, Barwan, Kostaya, Halgostar Holdings, Kentar, and parts of Enaria. They were amongst the most powerful and technologically advanced people on the continent. Their knowledge surpassed some of ours today some experts suggest. Over time they began to believe they didn't need to honor the gods that are accepted. They believed their technology put them above gods. Their King, Arthan believed they could make a device to artificially make someone into a god.

Dealings With Palarian

To do this, they asked Palarian, the god of knowledge how they might achieve this. Palarian told them he would grant them the knowledge in exchange for a book held within the royal vaults, that was protected by magic that prevented Palarian from reading it. The king accepted and was given the knowledge. The procedure was performed and the king felt exponentially stronger than he had, and when Palarian asked for them to uphold their end of the deal, the king refused. To punish the king's arrogance, Palarian with the help of other gods, split apart Ethoria and placed a curse upon the king and his court. He stripped the king of his power and stole the knowledge of everyone in the core of Ethoria. This had the effect of breaking their minds and reducing them to savages.   In the thousands of years since, Ethoria has failed to develop to anything more than just a conglomerate of warring clans. Merchants steer for miles around Ethoria to avoid its inhabitants. But since Barwan has become infested with growing numbers of cultist radicals, merchants have begun to explore other alternatives to get east.   "The detour may take days, but its for the best you avoid the Ethorians."
