Tarkal Sticks are a prolific drug in Ethros and is produced in the form of a solid, brittle, powdery stick that is bitten or cut from. The process by which it is made is a closely guarded secret of the many gangs that transport it. Generally you can find someone in every town who is selling this. Despite its illegality, there have been times when garrisons don't enforce the law, since they too are guilty of breakng it.

Each individual stick can cost the monthly wage of a farmworker. Therefore entire shipments are often heavily guarded and can cripple a gang if lost. The effects of the drug are reported to be a highened sense of smell and relief from all pain.
