The Black Goat of Kairn Orinen
As is so often the case with patrons such as the Black Goat of Kairn Orinen, much of their early origins are shrouded in mystery. Earliest encounters of the Black Goat describe finding the animal in the woods apart from the pack, whereupon it will employ increasingly strong manipulation to influence the victim. Black goats are predicatably the conduit through which this patron acts. It is known that it has a number of henchmen in its entourage, named Medikel, Arnibor, Serfan, and Eskil.
The patron doesn't appear himself often, scholars don't even truly know his name. It is known he was first encountered in the elven forest of Kairn Orinen (hence the namesake). The patron resides in the Ashen Plain where he will pull the bodies he obtains via various portals. Portals are usually presented in the form of black burnt portions of earth. The only confirmed way to free victims from the grasp of the Black Goat is to kill any black goats in the area.
