Travel

Travel is something that is considered costly, unecessary, and dangerous by the smallfolk. Maps aren't as rare as they once were, but detailed maps that display details and information about landmarks are very expensive. The Silver Road is a popular method of transport, but during the campaigning season those roads are clogged with soldiers and baggage trains that stretch for miles.
Ship travel is generally considered more reliable, and safer since you can dodge highwaymen. As long as you stick to established high traffic shipping lanes, piracy shouldn't be an issue. Pelargin schooners can be seen frequently sailing up and down shipping lanes.
Train travel is an emerging industry that will be certain to yield massive profits for investors. Although it is reasonably costly to board a train since they are produced exclusively by the dwarves of Keled Zaram. Rails are still being laid, and completed tracks only exist in small quantity within Korthia. Although with the help of magic, more tracks are being laid quickly.
