Birth Temple of Alzuth

Purpose / Function

Like the other birth temples that are in the major Albenis cities, this one was designed as a place to preform the traditional Birth Ceremony, which all those who fallow the Church of the Moons preform with their newborns. While it still is used for this function it is also now where the newly born in the city are taken in order for official records to be taken.

Alterations

The only alteration in the building has been when a records room was constructed after the birth record law was passed.

Architecture

Like most of the buildings in the Moon District of Alzuth it is made mostly of marble with accents of dark wood. The ceremonial room at the back of the building is perfectly circular. With it's floor sloping into a pool of water at the center, and windows high into the walls and ceiling to show the night sky. All around the room are drawn the phases of the moons. The rest of the building is made out of the same materials but less fancy.

History

Brith Temple Contruction started in 74PM and was built quickly, with records of ceromonies taking place here in the same years that construction started. And since it's completion, It has been preserved by the people though out it's history and even in times of struggle the people make sure that it remains untouched.   In the year 649 when the Birth Record Law was passed making every child be registered their for the cities records, there was some uproar as many saw the law as taking advantage of the respected religious Birth Ceremony and that it would remove the cultural significance of the Temple in the people's lives, however most people dont mind the law now, except those who don't fallow the Church of the Moons, and are still forced to bring their children here.
