Witena
The Witena is a group of advisors that also have the job of picking the king of Albion. Consisting of the 8 dukes of the kingdom, and 4 priests of the major religions of the kingdom, they help advise the king on matters of politics and religion, though the kings authority is final of couorse
The most famous power of the WItena is the selection of the next king. 90% of the time, they select the first male child with a spark, escpecially if the previous king selected him as heir, but other times it is more contentios. The only requirement is having a spark and being related to the previous king, The selection needs at least 4 dukes approval, and all 4 of the priests. The candidates go, Sons of the previous king by birth order, then daughters, then brothers and their children, then sisters and their children, and up. The candidate must have The Spark, but they do not need to be connected to the previous king by sparked individuals.
They meet once per year normally, but will also hold an emergency meeting when the king dies. Normally they will have already approved the heir, but if the king died without an heir, it could take a few days or even weeks.
