Armor in Albion

The historical counterpart of Albion is the period of Earth's history between roughly 800 and 1000 CE, referred to most often as the Viking Age or the end of the early Middle Ages. To bring the weapons and armor of Albion more closely in line with this time period, some modifications to the standard nomenclature of D&D are required. For simplicity's sake, I have not changed the mechanics or balance of weapons and armor—just re-flavored them as their closest historical counterparts. Some weapons and armor, most notably crossbows, do not appear here, because they were not introduced to Britain and Ireland until after this story takes place.
