Concordia. Elves were once a prosperous race across the continent, however ddefense   After these events, the elves tried to regain as much of their former glory as they could through the use of their magic, but they soon realised it would not be that simple and would take a great deal of time. So, in an act seen as selfish and unexpected by many, the leaders of the elven kingdom in The Elderwood ordered every elf to return to their homeland until such a time as the population crisis they were suffering from was solved. To this day, the elven population remains hidden across the far side of The Quessir Belt, completely cut off from the rest of civilisation.

Civilization and Culture

History

Elves are believed to be the world's most ancient race. Originally created by the god Corellon, the Arch Heart, they first rose from outer plane of Arvandor, before settling in The Feywild. From here, and they are said to have travelled to ......  and settled first on the southern continent of ...... where their technology quickly evolved allowing them to travel to all corners of the globe.   As they spread their influence across the world and settled in various regions, the elves began to separate into two distinct subraces. The high elves, who retained a potion of their ancestors magical power by living in close proximity to gateways to the feywild or within areas contain other sources of fey magic, and the wood elves, who ventured further away from these ancestral portals and took up residence in the primeval forests which covered vast portions of the world during of The First Era. A third subrace of elves, known as the drow, also came into the world during this time. Created after an ancient conflict between Corellon, the Arch Heart and Lolth, the Spider Queen, the drow inhabit The Underdark, having spread in much the same way as their aboveground counterparts.   Outside of these three, other subraces of elves are known to have evolved and spread across the world in smaller numbers. These include: the eladrin, who occasionally venture from their home in The Feywild and are viewed by some, coming from the races' ancestral home, as the purest form of elf; the sea elves, who came to the world to inhabit the its oceans, creating beautiful underwater cities comparable only to those from in The Elemental Plane of Water; and the shadar-kai, who juxtapose the previously mentioned eladrin, hailing originally from The Shadowfell.   Whatever their origin, the elves are viewed as a wise and proud race, living long lives which grant them a unique perspective on the world.
