Ecology and Habitats

Concordia. Tortles are quite rare on the continent, originating from the costal regions around Sudthorpe and The Dawn Isles as well as many of the forests including The Virescent Canopy, the Vine Mire, and The Wildwood. Most tortles make their way back to these ancestral homes when looking to reproduce as part of their natural lifecycle, but outside of that time they are known to travel far and wide across Concordia. Whilst they are a known quantity, their presence is still a novelty to most people as they do not usually mingle within society for large periods of time.

Civilization and Culture

History

Tortles have been known to inhabit the world since they were first discovered in the primeval jungles of The First Era. Their origin remains a mystery, with most academics concluding it to them to be the product of the accelerated evolution of turtles and tortoises due to an unknown magical intervention. Despite their discovery though, they have forever remained detached from worldly events, typically choosing instead to live more nomadic and secluded lifestyles as their nature dictates. They cane be found along coastal regions as well as in dense areas of forest.
Tortles are often seen as wise figures, typically having a very different view on the world than other races, however those qualities which give them this perspective also make many of them ignorant to what might be commonplace in more settled communities. Despite that though, they are still well-received by those who meet them.
