Calwe Taure
Wood Elven city on the edge of the deep wood.
This elven city once occupied the trees of the forest behind it; However, due to an increase in witch activity in the forests they pushed themselves to the edges and started creating their city from there.
First, to encourage trade docks were built on the nearby river and the wood elves offered to share with the neighbouring town until they were prepared to build their own. Next, they built a trading post to ensure trade could be effectively achieved.
While there were incidents with theft in the city at the time, the aid of local merchants boosted the economy and the first Calwe Palace was built. Thus, the first of the wood elven Kings was declared.
The King created a manor for visitors to stay in during their travels, encouraging further growth in trade. However, the "King" grew greedy and asked for a castle as well as Calwe Palace and manor. This provoked a crash in the economy, until a merchant's guild saved it.
The leader of Calwe Taure grew paranoid of the whispers from the neighbouring city and recruited a warlord to help built a solid wall around the city, hoping to protect his people. Despite this wall, trading thrived thanks to the merchant's guild that had set up in the city.
In encouragement, the King hired an artist to create a beautiful cathedral and they began to praise the Gods for their improvements.
A Bishop was hired to also offer a monastery to the people after the architect that was hired disappeared - presumed to be bewitched by the forest witches.
The wood elves were once a people in touch with nature, however, these wood elves sought to be viewed as equals in class to the High Elves from across the lands and saw themselves as high class.
There are no taverns here, as anyone wishing to visit may stay in the manor built by the King.
