Aothumhania

The closest Common translation of Aothumhania is 'celibacy' - those who are considered to be aothumha (Common trans. celibate) have willingly taken a vow to remain abstinent over an extended period of time, typically in correlation to a religious or military order. The length of this period of time varies depending upon the order - for some, aothumha is a state to be explored over a length of term. For some, this may mean their entire life.

History

In an unusual turn of events, those who penned the Vows were also the very first to take them: Queens Amelot and Areagne I of House An Locha wrote and took the Vows upon creating Ord an tSnáthaid in 6019 MS. Both twins kept to their Vows from the time they took them to the time of their death in 6503 MS. This knightly order is preceded by the Sealgairí Fola and has come to refer to an elite covert operations force within Anima.
