Field of Shattered Shields
Remnants of an ancient battle litter a vast, fog-encrusted moor. Rusted swords jut from the ground with bloodstained palm prints on the hilt, held in place for all eternity by moss and the rib cages into which they were once violently thrust. Skeletons trapped in rictus clutch mangled shields by rotting leather thongs, as useless now as they must have been in action. Everywhere, shattered pieces of shields once cast in silver, in bronze, in pure gold, in materials whose names have been lost to time and hubris. In the distance, the sketched out, yawning ruins of a gargantuan castle.
Climate
The Field of Shattered Shields is drenched in an eternal mist, though it is not directly adjacent to any water sources which would cause precipitation in the air. The edges of the field are obscured by the mist and thereby fuzzy to anyone attempting to visually perceive them, as if the field itself is not entirely there.
Fauna & Flora
The Gallowbloom variant known as Bláth Chroiche grow exclusively in soil enriched by long-since decomposed organic matter, such as the bodies of deceased creatures. The Field of Shattered Shields is rife with the haunting, skull-shaped bulbs from which the flowers glean their name.
History
According to Uncanny legend, the Field of Shattered Shields appeared in the Uncanny Valley at the time of its creation following the Apostasy in 0 AA.
