Gahariet was born to a large peasant family in the far-western village of Occasus. As the middle child of 7, he was often overlooked and this allowed him to explore his home and nearby villages undetected - unfortunately, this meant that when Gahariet was standing in a clearing marking the furthest western boundary of Camelot overlooking a blackened, twisted valley below, he was alone. He was alone, too, when the strange creatures that dwelled there caught his scent and pursued him, and alone still when a fearsome beast whose like he had never seen in all his days sunk its teeth into him.
