What is the leading cause of death in your world?

Often, hopeful young adventurers race off into the unknown unprepared for what lies in wait for them. 'Stalemate' refers to the conditions under which a quest is ended by force and not the quester's choice, ie: dragon breath, duel, fae compact, magical curse, etc.
