Vivus Reminiscentia/enne (VEE-voose REH-min-uh-scent-ee-uh)

The inscription above the entrance of every Renitentia can also be found engraved upon the chatelaine of the Vivus Reminiscentienne, worn as a reminder of the solemn duty of the office - translated into common New Animist dialects, it reads:

"We are all eternal if memory lives on." 

The Vivus Reminiscentia (Common trans. "Living Memory") is the highest ranking official in a Reminiscentian Renitentia (Common trans. "Anamnesis"), or monastery. They oversee all Reminiscentia/enne and their initiates as well as maintaining the archived historical documents and artifacts collected for study by the order. The Vivus is considered a living (or unliving, depending upon lineage) repository of the memory of Anima - and, in later years, Albion -- and is both a spiritual leader and a dedicated academic in their own right as they carry all existing memory with them even whilst they make new ones.

Responsibilities

An elected Vivus is responsible for the oversight of all Reminiscentia/enne within their Retinentia (Common trans. "Anamnesis"), archival of all incoming historical documents and artifacts, preservation and conservation of historical documents and artifacts, selection/approval of dig sites, and preservation/maintenance of archaeological sites.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The office of Vivus Reminiscentia is signified by an Il-Dath ring inset with a shard harvested from one of the Standing Stones of Feall Síoraí (dependent upon field of research and study).
