At the University sits its government. Of which has two sides, one of these sides are made up of Masters and the other is the Doctors.
On the Masters' side, they take interest in the general population of Willinghurst Cray, while the Doctors' side deals with the university matters.

How Close Is The University To The Government Politically?

The government is close to the University and so has its hand in the matters of the University and the governing of Willinghurst Cray.

What Is The Purpose Of The Government?

As the government is an ethno-artisocracy it deals a lot with economics making sure that each trade has its materials. As it is also a government its second goal is the security in those people and its materials.
While those who do not technically don't have a trade do matter as their Profession or potential Profession can help those who do have a trade as their profession, so these people are still protected under the government.

Racial Governance

As Williamhurst Cray has an ethno-artisocracy, it also deals with race, meaning that if a Master wants to stand as a Doctor will automatically get enrolled if the “correct” race, they have to be white.
They have to white due to their history of enslavement from the town of Wimbourne, this distrust has made the government type change from an artisocracy, to an ethno-artisocracy.
Tourists still have rights and are still treated as human beings. The only issue lies in immigration and governance.

Are There Issues With This Government Type

With the example of a stratocracy, is a government type of military force. If a country had this government type, it would be invaded because the military is there to protect and support the nation not to govern it. With an artisocracy the economy is at risk, as those who have trades as they are artisans would not be doing this and supporting the economy with their labours. To alleviate this, only certain ranks become part of the government.
It must also be mentioned that this government type is not meritocratic it is based on your profession as a tradesperson not if you are good at being a politician.

Steps To Take To Join The Government

As there are two Ranks that are part of the government these are Masters and Doctor.
Masters choose to be part of the government and are elected in by the University. With Doctors as soon as they become a doctor they are part of the government for life. For the Master there is no term limit each term is 4 years.
