The Registry of Marks

The book known as The Registry of Marks is a log of all the University Marks that the country of Willnghurst Cray has issued and are currently in use. While it makes sense that the book has all previous owners of a University Mark this is kept in a separate book. This book keeps a record of the current owners of the University Mark.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to show who is next to getting University Mark and to see if a business can keep theirs. A family member is first to take priority in the same trade as the family and to have the University Mark status, through being or excelling past the rank of Apprentice at the University. Those who don't have children will have the Mark go to the most senior employee by experience with the Mark to their name. Failing this the Mark will be surrendered and their entry scrubbed off the book and put into the archive copy.

Document Structure

Clauses

The bottom side of each University Mark has a code which relates to a record in this book. Each of the records are on seperate pages as to not run out of space on the page logging each person who has been awarded an University Mark. At the start of the system of the University Mark in which there were 150 of them, the code in the book has 5 digits allowing the system to be future-proofed.   The first line of each entry starts with the University Mark's code then the company name, separated by hyphens. After the second hyphen there is what the business is in the sense of the trade it is.   The next line, only consists of two numbers seperated by a pipeline, a vertical line. The first number is the number of family members, while the second is the number of the employees. For the family members they are lsited by who got their University Mark first, while the employees are listed by expierence order.

Historical Details

Background

The document defines a legal system between the University and the member of the University who have a University Mark. This allows for greater understanding of how a company will remain certified.

History

Over the years the way trade transactions occur has changed in Willinghurst Cray. It started with trade through businesses, using money. At first, the people who ran the businesses had no formal training. This meant that the quality of some of the work wasn’t as good as it could’ve been. After some time the University was established as a trade University. As a way of letting people know that they have completed the courses, they have the University Mark. To keep track of the marks there are two books. One of them shows which ones are in use and the people that hold them, while the other shows previous holders of the mark. The mark is a way of showing that the owners of the marks have been trained and know their trade.
