​Beran is the all-father god to his brethren. Beran is a stern warrior, a heavy handed disciplinarian, and a stalwart ally. His judgement is swift, righteous, and without error. He is a man of action and strength and he despises indecision and inaction almost as much as he condemns impurity. Beran is often depicted in massive armor befitting the culture (most typically, full plate armor) and wielding some sort of blunt weapon (this changes depending on the race and region. For Dwarves, Beran wields a mighty hammer after which Whelm was crafted, for those in the Swamp of Bone Beran is depicted wielding a bronzewood cudgel). Beran is not the eldest avatar of Balera despite his incarnation as a wise and hardened old man. Brother Beran was called forth by Balera to help push the race of man forward and to instill in them a strong sense of righteousness so that they would not so easily succumb to corruption and influence as did the likes of the drow, duergar, and others.​ ​Beran is considered the functional leader of the Templar order.​ Relationship with Bronze Dragons
