Ibn al Almaer
Ibn al Almaer (translated “the place of total knowledge”). Caelym’s plane of existence is a great city that spans all segments of her reality. The city is composed of simple mud brick walls that are expertly masoned and placed to great spires and other architectural achievements. The full city can never be seen from any particular vantage point no matter the height of the tower. Instead, the city feels close and welcoming. People are dressed simply and of a variety of races and ethnicities – often recognizable but never truly comprehensible (that looks like and elf but I’m not sure what kind or where they come from). At the heart of the great city is a magnificent open air temple through which people are constantly coming and going. All throughout the city is evidence of trade – great deals being debated, decided, won and lost though never is there an exchange of physical goods. What is being exchanged at this marketplace is knowledge, thoughts, and new ideas and each souls gains greater enlightenment as they stay and participate in the exchanges.
When a follower of Caelym perishes and the servant of Baatu has escorted them here, they find themselves waking in a bed at the central Temple. They are met by a kindly merchant (Brome or Miath) who engages in conversation with them and gives them a precious gift. They are charged to go out into the streets and do business with what they are given. With that, they leave the temple and begin to engage in the bartering of knowledge. Within moments, they realize that they no longer no where the Temple is and its location becomes the true prize they are seeking. Those that become most skilled in this economy eventually find their way back to the great temple and make their final trade (representing their reaching enlightenment) with an Avatar of Caelym and are transformed into one of Caelym’s greater servants (usually, an Aasimon).
