Weapon Kata

Pun Gung Bi

This kata is acutally a specialized Weapon Proficiency with the benefits of a Weapon Kata built in. The trained weapon is the Pun Gung Bi.

Pun Gung Bi are rings worn by the martial artist that have small, arrow tipped protrusions allowing for the practioner to pierce their opponent as well as land an unarmed strike. Pun Gung Bi do not confer the status of "armed" for the martial artist - they are too small and delicate to provied any real protection from weapons, however, they do confer additonal damage for certain strikes.

When a succcessful Backhand or Knife Hand attack is made, the martial artist must make a Dexterity check. If successful, the Pun Gung Bi adds d4 pts. of damage to the attack. As long as the martial artist is wearing the Pun Gung Bi they are considered to be using this kata. If a parry is used, the Pun Gung Bi are destroyed.
