Gold is not Peace
“Its the third bank incident this month.” The old constable said, a cigarette hanging from his mouth.
The young detective beside him wrinkled his brow as they entered side by side.
The bank was marble with a beautiful mosaic on the floor, tiles organized to depict the founding of Starbrook Family Savings and Trust, two sisters and a dragons hoard. “I hadn't heard of any others-”
“Not here, smaller, pirate banks to the west.” The young man raises an eyebrow at that statement, watching the old cop take deep lungfuls of tabacco.
“You think three robberies on three different islands have the same responsible party?” The young man, a detective of only three months, is new to Eirini, he came up as a street cop in Seria, but jumped at the opportunity to come here, island justice in a place known for high profile heists.
Eirini was the birthplace of Arakokra in Minos, known for their underwater mines and slave class. Now gaining a small bit of fame for the new Artificing School, lead by Harrison Tarring and Stellio Copperfield. Its a place of magic forges and ornate jewelry.
The old man takes another drag before returning to the conversation, “Not robberies kid.” He shakes his head as they enter the vault, “Nothings been stolen.”
To the young detectives awe he is greeting by a vault still brimming with coin and jewels, but today it is not gold he is staring at, but lead.
