Aldatu is a world that has been in an endless cycle of success and destruction for thousands of years.   Now various areas live in various states, but the world is always in flux.   The First game takes place in a most desert middle eastern type climate, a region known as Uzta.   Various city states trade and control various areas. There has not been a large scale government since the last great catastrophe. When the world flooded and restarted.   Alea - a large farming area, the patron god of the city is Zerekoa, the god of the grain harvesto   Grutza - a very religious area. patron god is Otokoa, the god of ritual and ceremony and magic, monk college, bard college, wizard college, economy is based on getting all the colleges to work for basically free. they do not like people who are not alum. the city is controlled by a congress of deans who elected an arch dean to rule the city. they rule in tandem, technically but never in function, with the high priest of Otokoa. adventuring partys in the style of greek frats are common. the teachers and admins benefit form the students hard work. grad students struggle mightily to close the gap. sometimes very poor servants are brought in.   Burdina - a town known for their iron, Patron is Herdokoa, god of metal, iron, and rust, of times passage, seclustionist. does limited trading and only in bulk. built into a mountain and surrounded by walls. all solders wear all iron everything. structures have tons of iron structures. including on the walls. they are known for a swift and severe defense of their land, rites, people and customs. wary of outsiders. a massive magic spell keeps iron from rusting within the city walls. inside the city you must use a local iron currency, you may by it in gold or silver, but you may sell it back to the government at a discount, and only electrum. they know if their coins leave the city becaus eiron rusts very quickly. they have become very rich relatively quickly. The most wealthy are the mine owners, and then the city land owners. The mining families split demographically, with two being dwarven, one being human, one being high eleven and one being orcish. the land owners ar emuch more diverse but there are only a few dozen of any significance. the burgeoning middle class is of merchants and skilled metal workers.   Korbrea - a town known for their copper, Patron is Berdakoa, god of mining, of nature, of fire and metal working, maybe includes native rock to create better copper,   Garadoa - a town known for their alcohol, Patron is Eromena, a genderless god of madness   Laban - an outlaw town patron is Etsipena, a god of thieves, a safe haven for all types, welcoming to new comers, a quarter for true rejects, a quarter for religious rejects. many ways in and out of town, built to be unassailable by building both up and down.   Urrea - a town of merchants, patron is Orekoa, a god of merchants, scales, balance. they have been establishing tolls and watchtowers as they secure their routes. they are steadily raising more soldier women especially, but also hire a large amounts of mercs to fills roles     Currency   Very wealthy use gold   Merchant and upper class use silver or electrum   Military Class may use iron   Most use Copper.     Magic -   the religious are the only real magic users in the cities, but other magics exist in the wilds and the mile inbetween
