Sacred Codex
the Holy Book
The Sacred Codex (sometimes the Codex, or the Sacred Treatises) is a collection of between 66 to 73 volumes of religious text that is a compilation of stories, instructions, and poetry. The number of volumes vary by region and church doctrine, with the 66 never changing between the churches, but several sects using additional ancient teaching to complement the prime 66. Each volume has a number of 'books' within them, that a modern reader might simply call 'chapters'. The number of books vary between the volumes, with some, such as Volume 30, having only a single book, while others have as much as 151. The Codex content was written over centuries in various languages. In the modern day it is translated into the common language for the reader, and used for teaching, inspiration, and prophecy.
