Uchi Umi

the Interior Sea

Uchi Umi, the Interior Sea, is a small southern part of the greater Mushi Umi sea of the Na Boon islands. The sea is defined by the Great Seawall of Na Boon that was built around it, creating the sea in the first place. At the heart of the sea is the city of Shuto, the capital of Teikoku the nation that rules the Na Boon archipelago.

The sea's waters are extremely calm. Between the high mountains of the islands that block the worst storms of the Piercing Ocean, and the Great Seawall that is designed to protect the waters when Muchi Umi does churn up, Uchi Umi is often described as having a dreamlike stillness. Even when storms do rage over Muchi Umi, Uchi Umi stays relatively peaceful. It is forbidden by law to swim or sail the waters.
