Genasi

The Genasi, otherwise known as Demi-Elementals, are creatures born with elemental affinities of the four primary elements. These entities can be born from all manner of elemental spirit, such as the nixies or sprites of Fey, to the Janni and Marids of Djinn, to even the purest of traditional Elementals. The four elemental specifications are Sylphs for air, Undines for water, Ifrits for fire, and Oreads for earth.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Genasi usually keep a humanoid shape but have a variety of different biological changes depending on their elemental affinity:
  • Air Genasi are usually lithe and thin with wispy hair that sometimes can float up on its own or form in the shape of a misty plume, carrying subtypes such as Snow, Storm, and Wind Genasi. These Genasi can hold their breath indefinitely, have smoke pass right through them, draw power from electricity around them, and are capable of navigating through strong winds and storms.
  • Water Genasi are usually translucent or have watery formations on their body and hair, having subtypes such as Swamp, Acid, Snow, and Ice Genasi. They are naturally fluid and most liquids don't affect them nor do cold or acid, and they can oftentimes swim naturally and don't need to breathe underwater.
  • Earth Genasi usually are made of stone and sometimes metal with a variety of powers and subtypes such as Sand, Mud, Gem, Metal, and Stone Genasi. They usually are physically strong, have powers over stone manipulation, and are functionally the most durable of the Genasi. Most come from the Breach but Earth Genasi can be found anywhere in rocky areas such as canyons, mountains, and deep within the earth, forming naturally similar to traditional elementals.
  • Fire Genasi are born of ash and flame, having subtypes such as Ash, Smoke, and Sun Genasi. These are usually the most volatile, destructive, and powerful Genasi in terms of abilities, and can exist in hot temperatures, swim in lava, and even walk through fire.
