The Economies of Alemi

Alemi has a wide diversity of local economies spanning across barter, centrally controlled costs, free markets, heavily-regulated markets, and virtually any other variant that comes to mind.   However, globally all nations use small discs of metal--gold, silver, and copper--that exist in a simple metric relationship. 1GP = 10SP = 100CP.   Some more affluent nations have coin above gold; some of the very poorest have coin below copper.

Trade Routes

Major and minor trade routes criss-cross each continent.   In the tables below, cities are listed roughly from the furthest north or west termination of the route, travelling east and south to its end. Links are to the corresponding nation.

Major Trade Routes

Major trade routes may be seen as the backbones of the movement of flows and goods across the continents. Major trade routes tend to be better guarded, although perhaps not entirely safer. Towns along major trade routes are often significantly more diverse than other locations.

Minor Trade Routes

Minor trade routes are less well-traveled than the major and are guarded--if at all--at the discretion of local governmental forces. Towns on minor trade routes are often slightly more diverse than other locations. There are many more minor trade routes--those that only link two or three cities are for the most part omitted from this list.
