Alánder

Pronunciation: AH-len-DAHR
Very occasionally, an unborn child will receive too much magic- so much so that it spills over into another fetus, and the two will be inextricably connected for the entirety of their lives. They will be born on the exact day and time, and if they are in the same universe they will be drawn towards each other.
Cons:

• They'll be 'drawn together' to the point where, if they don't seek each other out voluntarily, their magic will take over their bodies and forcibly bring them together.
• While in most cases both alánders will have equal amounts of power, sometimes one will be more powerful than the other. When this is the case and the alánders are at odds with each other, the more powerful one may draw upon their partner's magic without their consent.
• When the discrepancy is particularly great, the more powerful one may even control the body of the other.

Pros:

• Together, their magic will meld and become capable of... well, a lot. Exceptional feats of magic have been known to occur when a learned pair comes together.
• Typically, alánders will always know where the other is- or, at least, be able to find them in times of distress.
