Qualifications

You have to be a male weighing at least 160 lbs. and be able to pass basic and intermediate combat tests.

Perception

Purpose

The Scythian Guard serves to defend Scythia. It consists of the Border Guard, which focuses its attention on the northern border where Scythia meets Thienid; regional guards for each of the country's regions and their contained cities; and the royal guard, which defends the castle and the individual members of the royal family.

Tools

A longsword and platemail are required, but beyond that weapons are up to the individual soldiers' discretion. Maces, bows, spears, and knives are just a few of the acceptable weapons for a soldier to carry.

Legality

Scythian Guardsmen are required to serve for at least five years, or until one of the following occurs:

Their first child turns five
They have a second child
They earn an award of valor
They're significantly injured
They betray their platoon
They exceed the age of 45

If a guardsman is discharged due to fatherhood, however, he can be drafted again in times of need if all of his children are above the age of fifteen. After women are allowed to volunteer legally, the law states that they are to be discharged as soon as they're discovered pregnant and are not allowed to volunteer again until all of their children are independent. Women cannot be drafted.
