The war of petals was a grave disaster for the land. Many of men escaped with there minds sane, many more where left broken. The troops that where broken where left to the wayside and where not even given a second look screamers the commoners called them or the sullied. After the war i set out with some of my colleagues to help and to research their madness. Though it pains me to say we've found very little on how to fix there minds no magic nore artifact of our possession could help them. After 2 years of research Ive come to report my findings on the matter.

Causes

The cause of the Scream is varied from man to man. Though each one comes from traumatic experiences from the battle field. Our best example of this is Infantry man Colin Belt. During the first battle of the siege of Cryptu Colin was stationed on the front lines of 11 Battalion under the third Prince Aldur. Colin during the battle stood under foot the Giant Golem The city of Cryptu had prepared for the battle he saw his entire battalion wiped away by the Golem blood pooled from the Golems step and a crimson lake took the plains from which the battalion stood he aw all of them die under the mechanical beast. Even the third prince could not survive the ordeal having sacrificing him self to topple the Golem.

Symptoms

Still using Collin his symptoms developed very quickly after the battle screaming in his sleep was the start of his ordeal. though it was the first it was not the worst the boy had to live with. His shield brothers worried over his health began to keep a log of his activities. On the fourth day of Red Crown Colin was seen siting alone blanked eyed staring saying clank clank here come the... then repeating the phrase over and over again never finishing it. one of his shield brother named Ted finally snapped the boy out of the trance he was in doing so the boy screamed and cried and held onto ted. The log states they held onto each other for hours. The symptoms do not end there however. on the Eleventh Day of Red Crown Colin had gotten into a fight with one of his brothers once again this was ted before the fight however both men where seen laughing and having a joyous time together by there peers. Ted was seen talking to Collin about what happened though no one knows what was said.Collin leaped out of his chair and started to beat Ted leaving ted Seriously bruised and beaten. This is just a few of the symptoms that has been affecting the men. The last and final symptom listed here is Death. Collin before the last battle of Cryptu killed himself in the armory after receiving his sword and shield he slit his throat. Collin died at the age of nineteen.

Treatment

Treatment of the scream varies from man to man. There is no true treatment though many can work pass what they've been through while others can only repress what they've seen. Ted the Shield brother of Collin has worked pass the war and now own a restaurant in the capital. Though not a s many are luck many soldiers drown themselves in alcohol and other vile pleasures

Prognosis

If left untreated death or the loss of mind.

Prevention

The best prevention against the scream while simple is very complicated. Which is not to send men to war which is very unlikely though is the best prevention there is.

History

The oldest reported case wa during the founding of the 1st kingdom of candelor in an ancient text the author Sage Grandeulr. Spoke of the conditon of the soliders and how the hwoling plauged the city at night. This is the oldest written text on the matter this condition must have existed well before this text War has existed sine the mbegging of man and as such must have existed since before our dawn.

Cultural Reception

The Screamers are usually scorned from society most do not igve them a second glance. many live on the streets 2 out of ever homlesss man on the streets are screamers. many find themselves living in shantytowns away from the cities. Screamers are considered a disease by the common populace many wont touch one for the fear of having the disease and in some churchers the few places that help the Screamers they hold a second area underneath the church for them away from the eyes of the public.
