The Oruz Bukra

The Oruz Bukra, or "Knights of the Claw" in common, were an elite clan of orcs fabled to have lived in the northeast lands of Avalos bordering with Perim's great Tecola river in the forest's of Tamaroth. At the time, these lands were rife with conflict, having many different tribes moving from across the river, having been driven out of the northern territories of Perim. Seeking to preserve their people, the Oruz Bukra adopted a very militaristic lifestyle which held strong in their traditions. This became the way of their lineage, and enabled them to hold control over the Tamaroth territory against many different tribes throughout the years.

During the Reign of Dagoth, the Oruz Bukra were charged by the tyrant to bequeath him a mass of their sons to join his ranks when they were of age to fight, planning to use them to gather and lead a larger force of brutish mountain orcs of which he already held sway. When they refused, Dagoth ordered an overwhelming force of his own to drive them from their homeland, and into the northern marshes. He then gave Tamaroth up as an offering to the mountain orcs, in order to buy their allegiance.
With many of their people slain, and their homeland turned to the hands of their enemies, the Oruz Bukra swore vengeance against Dagoth and his forces. This mutual goal is what eventually led them to ally with the men of Avalos, lending aid in force and strategy. One wonders what might fate might have fallen for Avalos had they chosen to submit to Dagoth. This is why the Oruz Bukra are so revered in the stories of Avalos.
