Large Mamechen Herd Leaders

The leader holds the highest rank of a Large Mamechen herd. This position is earned by the winner of a duel between the most powerful children of the current leader. The leader leads the herd in migrations, ensures the saftey of its members, and makes important decisions.

Physical Characteristics

The leader is often the largest in the herd, spanning 45 meters in height and a width of 20 meters. Its tough, shell-like armour provides superior protection against predators and environmental hazards, and it is covered in distinct, battle-scarred patterns that signify its status.

Responsibilities and Roles

Leadership and Direction

The leader leads the herd across the lands, protecting them on the way to the lands the herd's scouts find. The leader has an acute sense of direction and knowledge of the terrains.

Protection

The leader leads the herd's protectors in conflicts and battle against trespassers and aggressive herds. Its physique makes it a formidable force, and its strategic mind helps it coordinate defensive formations.

Mentorship

The leader mentors the next generations of the herd, not only his children but the other younglings of the herd too. The leader's mentorship ensures the continuity of the herd's saftey and unique culture.

Health of the Herd

The leader ensures that all the members of the herd are healthy, making sure the sick and injured members recieve care and rest.

Interaction With Other Herds

The leader's role extends beyond his own herd, interacting with other leaders for negotiations of recsources and territory. These interaction can also be confrontational, leading to displays of dominance and territorial disputes.

Duels

If a member of the herd believes the leader and his family are not worthy of leading the herd, he challenges the leader to a duel. These duels are often initiated by adolescents filled with pride and the desire to display their strength. The leader often tries to defuse the situation, only attacking the other if he refuses to step down.
