Vikkenling

Vikkenlings are hybrids between Humans and Vøkk. More often than not, Vikkenlings are at home in neither Iyone nor Dules, as their magically mixed blood wishes to be in both and neither realm. The vast majority of Vikkenlings are also born cursed by their own blood. This fact has Vikkenling births occurring very rarely. One Vikkenling per area per decade is considered to be frequent. In addition, most Vikkenlings do not survive to reach adulthood, either due to misfortune or due to the oppression they oftentimes face from their societies.

Special Abilities

Much like their Vøkk parents, many Vikkenlings have at least one extraordinary ability. Some have been known to perform Laneia Shifts, which allow them to travel between Iyone and Dules at certain places and/or times. Most Vikkenling powers are directly related to those of their Vøkk parent.

Cursed Blood

Most Vikkenlings are afflicted with a curse of some kind from birth. These curses can range from immortality (of spirit or of body), the inability to lie, or even a prophetic curse, such as being doomed to kill all the Vikkenling comes to love.

Varies widely; Vikkenlings rarely survive to adulthood
