Jack fails to convince the CIA that he's loyal

Jack is initially supported as a grieving widower and single father; but as the extent of "Laura Bristow's" activities become known, suspicion falls upon him.
Jack spends most of this year in debriefings, then in interrogations, and finally in solitary confinement. He is eventually cleared of all wrongdoing and receives a presidential pardon.
