Irina is interrogated by the KGB; and ultimately is sent to Kashmir prison as an enemy of the state.
Irina spends the first few months of the year in increasingly intense debriefings with the KGB. The hierarchy is distrustful of her, and eventually conduct a show trial and send her to Kashmir to disappear.
