The colony on LV-426, Hadley's Hope, stops communicating with Gateway Station. Colonial Marines aboard the USS Sulaco are sent to investigate. The Hadley's Hope colony is destroyed in a thermonuclear explosion. The USS Sulaco goes missing, and is presummed destroyed.
