The Elves
The Era of the Long Lived marks a time where elves ruled the world. They could be found in all corners, on all continents. These elves used magic in all aspects of life. The long lived elves had advanced societies including fast travel with teleportation circles, creating a connected world for them. The Altherion Empire was the Elvan stronghold in Solaris, from this hub, adventuring and exploration parties were sent to the other continents in an effort to expand the empire.
The Other Races
Dwarves
The dwarves in Onira held up in their
White Summit Mountain fortresses. Since the elves had no desire to live underground they let the dwarves be. Most elves didn't even know the White Summit Mountains were occupied. The dwarves in Solaris lived alongside one of the major elven empires, they were generally peaceful and helped each other develop new technologies.
Gnomes
In this era the gnomes were still one nationality, they had not yet broken apart. Gnomes were a nomadic people, never settling in one place for too long. They were only able to live alongside the elves because they were excellent at hiding and did not take up much space.
Loxodon
At this time the Loxodon inhabited most of Onira and the northern parts of Shaedor, they were, and still are, fiercely protective of their lands. As the elves started coming to Onira and attempting to colonize it, they were at odds with the Loxodon. War broke out and the elves pushed the Loxodon to the deserts.
Humans
Humans were concentrated in the middle of Shaedor with very small communities in other parts of the world. When the elves came to Shaedor they brought human-transmissible diseases that devastated the human populations.
Notable Military Conflicts
End of the Era
The era ends when a magical event stops all magic from working, causing the elf civilizations to crumble and fall and stranding elf explorers away from their home empires. Without the use of magic they were inept, they could not survive. After the fall, small pockets of elven communities collected in the Forest of the Long Lived in Shaedor, learned to survive, and receded from the world. After the fall, with the elves mostly gone, the other races were able to reclaim their lost territory and once again have a space in the world.
