Session 25: The Crypt and the Lake part 2

General Summary

Our heroes start outside a locked and difficult to move door, they hear a child's crying and clinking chains inside. After a bit of work on the door it finally can be pushed open. our heroes see a large circle painted on the floor, two statues of a knight standing on either side of a chained coffin. On top of the coffin is a small boy, crying hysterically. Daeran approaches the child and tries to talk to him, all he gets out of the kid is that his name is Billy and he wants to go with the party. Zanril casts a spell that tells him this child will only bring bad things and so our heroes decide to leave the room without Billy. They travel along a long hallway in the back of the cript, eventually they find two doors, one on either side of the hallway. The first door is unlocked, inside is another skeletal swarm, they kill it with little effort. The other door is locked but Rorick's frozen water spell does the trick and the lock opens. Our heroes are attacked by two skeletal swarms, shadows, and a shadow beast. After a bit of a battle the shadow beast runs away and everything else is killed. In this room are two marble cat statues and some tombs, half of them are empty, the other half contain skeletons with various pieces of jewelry. Solto convinces Lucas to put on two golden cuffs. Lucas is cursed! his mouth is sewn together. Solto collects the other pieces - a stone jewelry set and a golden crown, and places them (and the cat statues) into the bag of holding. Our heroes exit the crypt and set up camp. In the morning Zanril lifts the curse that was on Lucas and they head to the edge of the lake. They are running out of time to get to the surface and decide that going across the lake will be the fastest.
