Ataiid

A aquatic race who live in the sea. Rarely sighted and said to be a sailor's myth. They live in groups (building homes out of the ocean ore) across the  vast oceans. They come in all skin colors and hair colors. Their thick skin gives them protection from the cold of deep water, keeping them comfortable at just above freezing temperatures. They are average height as humans. They can live up to 700 years. They feed on fish and sea plants. Their trust doe's not extend far beyond their clan and others of their kind, and their communities are very tightly-knit. Some have known to be raiders attacking skips and dragging them down to the depths below. Breathing freshwater is dangerous and they became sick quickly when doing so. They can only breathe air for at max half an hour before needing to submerge again. Some of their ancestors used magic to breath on land but that has been lost and forgotten.
