In Alkara,the new year starts in Avoien, and each month is comprised of 91 days, or 13 sennights. When a date is written out, one begins with the day, followed by the month, followed by the year.

A date can also be abbreviated by shortening the month to its first letter. It is also acceptable to shorten the year to the last two digits. Both the examples below are acceptable.
