The Trading Capital of Wessaryn
The city of Wessport was built long ago as a small port when Wessaryn was young. As the kingdom grew, so did Wessport, and after the fall of Essaryn, thousands of immigrants and refugees moved into Wessaryn and into cities like Wessport. As Wessport started taking Essaryn's place, Wessport became a large harbor of trade and commerce,w ith powerful trading routes spreading across the know world, and guarded by Wessaryn's powerful fleet. Wessport has also attracted many people from all across the world to work and live as merchants and traders and build their fortune far away from their homeland, in the Kingdoms of Man. Wessport has had a story very similar to its kingdom: when the kingdom was small, Wessport too was small, and when the kingdom grew and expanded, so did Wessport, like a smaller mirror image, or a singular item that is part of a much larger whole.
Demographics
Most people who live in Wessport are Northborn, although there are many other groups of people from all over the world, coming in as traders and merchants from many different locations across the world...except for Elves. You won't find an elf anywhere near Wessport; they made sure of that when Hidraelvullan was razed to the ground.
Government
The city is run under the Kingdom of Wessaryn like any other city, and answers to the king of Wessaryn.
Defences
Wessport is guarded by imressive stone walls. Its geography also helps, but Wessport wasn't built to be guarded against a land invasion, for no army would bother go to such lenghts as to conquer the entire kingdom just to reach Wessport. Instead, it was built to withstand naval assaults.
Industry & Trade
Wessport was built for trade, and trade is its specialty; from the cities of the Empire of Jade to faraway lands and continets with exotic peoples.
Infrastructure
While its roads are certainly nothing to scoff at, Wessport is known far and wide for its great harbor, and powerful fleet of merchant ships.
Guilds and Factions
There are many trading guilds who, together, control much of the city. Other than the traders, there aren't many large and powerful guilds or factions controlling the city of Wessport.
History
Wessport grew from a small seaside town to a large and bustling city-state by the end of the First Era. After a war against their rival, Lonnguard, they formed the kingdom of Wessaryn and under Gaalvan II, the new kingdom conquered surrounding lands, including the old Elven state of Hidraelvullan through a violent war that ended in the total destruction of the Elven state.
Geography
Wessport is built on the coast, of course, but it is surrounded by tall mountains, and to reach it, you need to trek across some easily-defensible mountain paths until you reach a small plain and the city of Wessport at the edge, where land touches sea.
