Arcanists

Arcanists are the most powerful magic users in history. They are Sorcerors trained in the art of Wizardry and Divine Magic and, through a ritual known only to the Magister Council of Roseweald, the amount of magic they can pull through them is limited only by the amount their body can withstand. Arcanists are exceptionally rare as not only must they be born with very specific traits, they must also pass numerous tests and screenings to be accepted by the Magister Council so that they can be assured as to not use their abilities for nefarious purposes.
The process for making an Arcanist is unknown but some things can be surmised from the past. The qualifications to become an Arcanist are one in a generation at best, as there is hardly ever more than one at a time. The process is very very unstable, as seen when the Magister council announced it would be attempting the creation of an Arcanist and the following week a mile wide crater was found on the isolated southern tip of Ausen. Finally the process of creating a Magister is extremely well kept with the only ones who supposedly know it are the Council members themselves.
A fully fledged Arcanist has nigh absolute control over magic in the area surrounding them, they can weave combinations of spells together that no other mage can, they can manipulate magic finer than other enchanters and they have no limit to the spells they can weave in a short time.
