Duregar Goddess of Moledar, Basalt is the stalwart defender of the region and her champions are often the first defenders when enemies from the Underdark threaten the people of Moledar.

Personal history

Basalt was a Duregar woman in the Old World, a soldier for her people who sought to claim the Underdark for themselves. When she was pulled into the Divine Spring, she was suffering from lethal wounds and made into a Goddess. She emerged on the Surface and was lost and confused. She met the Rock Gnomes of what would become Gnommengrad and they helped heal her wounds. In repayment she aided them against their foes, defending them from a Goblin God. It took her years to find her home again and by the time she had she had found a liking to the people of the surface. She called for her people to stand with them rather than aim to conquer.
Some followed her but those in charge refused and set themselves against her. She brought the cavern down upon them and led her followers to the surface, allying themselves with Zimwick and Sidela's Followers. She and her people aided them in their defense, supplying them with armor and weapons and, in time, warriors who stood in defiance of all who came at them.
Following the Purge War, Basalt agreed to the Golden Concordat to placate the Imperial Gods and keep them from attacking Moledar. She empowers her champions and blesses those who stand in defense of their people with Armor and Shields to defend themselves.
