Divine Power and Worship

The Gods draw much of their strength from within, after all a god with no followers is still a god, but their strength is bolstered by Worship and Followers. For a god to truly claim the power their title evokes, Followers are required for them to perform miracles and divine judgements.   For some, Worship can entail only a few dozen followers who are devoted or in some cases a Single Zealot may be enough to provide them power. In other cases it can take hundreds or thousands to satiate a gods power. The scope of the god's domain is a large factor in this, the wider the scope the more followers are necessary. For a war god many thousands of followers would be required to provide necessary power for miracles while a god of Archery would need only a fraction of that.   The power a worshiper wields also affects the power and influence they have upon their god. For example, Emperor Autrion Haman wields an extreme amount of power and follows the God Kothan. Autrion's twisted mind and bloodthirsty attitude have poisoned Kothan and the other Imperial Gods with him into being Violent and War Hungry avatars if their once honorable selves. And this in turn has made the Empire into an engine of war to fuel those desires.
