The Laughing Djinn
The Laughing Djinn is a large colourful pavilion located near the centre of the Canvas City in Tradegate. It is owned by Raafi el-Salah. The Laughing Djinn stands out among the surrounding tents due to the multicoloured glowing globes strung around the outside.
Architecture
The Laughing Djinn appears as though it's made of canvas, regardless of the time of day, a low din can be heard from the outside. The canvas seems impervious to all mundane damage, in addition, the interior is always a pleasant temperature.
There are two obvious entrances to the pavilion, a large main entrance that leads into the central taproom. The second entrance is significantly smaller, and lead into the quieter reception area.
The taproom is a cacophony of colour, sound and senses. It's a place where visitors and inhabitants of the canvas city gather. Colourful globes are strung throughout the room, wooden room dividers section a variety of areas, and a soft herbal smoke drifts through the chamber. As bar staff float around the room delivering food and drinks to patrons musicians strum various instruments.
By contrast, the sleeping compartments are relaxed and quiet. The entrance leads into a carpeted reception room, with several canvas chambers each containing low beds with comfortable mattresses and duvets. As visitors arrive they are greeted by a friendly attendant who shows them to their room and attends to their needs.
History
Rumours speak of the Laughing Djinn appearing overnight some 20 years ago. It's owner, a rich merchant named Raafi el-Salah, quickly ingrained himself in Tradegate. His popularity and the popularity of the Laughing Djinn soared.
