Battle of the Frostborne

(Legacy Content)
The Battle of the Frostborne was a multi-month long conflict during the mid Second Era, in which the naval forces of the newly peaceful noble house of Troyes engaged in combat with the Frostborne Pirates. This was mainly an excuse to give their veteran soldiers something to fight, while also potentially bringing the Pirates' vast riches into the Tyrralorean economy, as the Shoal of the Frostborne tale would suggest.    However, the forces rallied by the Pirates were far, far more than the comparatively small TDI fleet. While the TDI certainly outgunned the pirates, they were not willing to risk these undead, spectral, and or demonic fiends board their ships and had to wait for reinforcements. This would begin the multi-month conflict where the TDI would attempt to eradicate these pirates and claim whatever wealth they could. And although it would eventually end in relative success - with the "Pirate King" being supposedly slain - the wealth garnered was nowhere near what was thought to be there, and the remainder of Tyrralorean forces were withdrawn to eliminate costs as much as possible.

The Conflict

Outcome

The Battle resulted in numerous casualties for both house Troyes and the Frostborne Pirates in exchange for comparatively small gains in resources for the Tyrralorean Defense Initiative. Some Tyrraloreans suspect that this entire endeavor was not even for the acquiring of resources, but rather to be rid of the warmongering soldiers that were left without a real purpose once Troyes backed out of the Tyrralorean Civil War, although this has not been - nor seemingly ever will be - confirmed by official decree.
