Anatomy

Changelings are humanoids that share the same height and physicality as humans. They are often slimmer than most humans with slightly longer limbs, they also have less drastic body shapes.

Biological Traits

Changelings are well known for their ability to change their body into that of another humanoid creature at will with no consequences to them self. This ability is why they are feared by many societies and have gained a negative view. They can change into any humanoid creature they have seen or can imagine. They can change gender, height, weight and limbs to do so. They can change so quickly that many have learned to use this ability in combat to freak out an enemy to gain a quick advantage.

Genetics and Reproduction

Changelings reproduce in the same way as most humanoids. Most changelings do not want to reproduce because of the way society treats them. Because of this, it is rare to see changelings settling down or reproduce. Children born with a changeling as a parent will always become a changeling, something which often ends up revealing the changeling in the relationship. This is also another reason for the changelings not to willingly reproduce, since most changelings live with secret identities or stolen lives. There is still a growing number of changelings in the world, and this is not because of changelings breeding between themselves or with other humanoids, but because of the second way changelings can be born. Doppelgangers are a much stronger and more powerful version of changelings who are mostly born with evil and selfish intentions, Doppelgangers are very nutorious for not caring about their offsprings as they are rarely if ever truly commited to relationships and people. Their children are born as changelings and they are the biggest reason for the race's reproduction and continued existance.

Changelings have no culture or heritage of their own, they seek to adopt the culture of the people they end up living with instead of making culture themselves. But they can get very fascinated by other races culture adapting it as their own.

Common Taboos

Changelings in of themself are taboo. Many societies and countries believe them to be nothing more than assassins, murderers and thieves. This misconception created by a few of their people have made the entire race into misfits and monsters. Some parts of the world like the Trugarian Empire have even put out a kill order on all changelings and even goes so far to pay commoners handsomly for hunting down these creatures. Because of both the misconceptions about the race and the people who have come to distrust them and make them into boogeymen, changelings keep to themself and adopt new lives which they often live and die in without telling other people.
