Dire Dodo

Anatomy
The dire dodo like normal dodos has a big thick body with small wings too small for flight. They have a long neck that leads up to a big head with a big beak. On their head, they normally have two sets of horns two big and then two small behind them. The dire dodos are also much bigger than normal dodos being around two and a half times bigger.

The gestation period for dire dodos are a bit longer than normal dodos at 8 weeks.

The dire dodo grew up fast being sexually mature at only two months.
Ecology and Habitats
The best habitat for the dire dodo is a moist environment with a temperate climate. A swamp, marsh or fields close to lakes are highly optimal.
Dietary Needs and Habits
The dire dodo eats whatever it can find as it is a scavenger bird. It can eat some fruits, vegetables but prefer insects, small lizards, toads, and rodents or cut up meat.

Uses, Products & Exploitation
The dire dodos are highly sought after for their eggs. They normally produce one egg each day but can produce two which is not that uncommon. The birds also have a lot of meat and are very tasteful, but because of their low numbers, they are not slaughtered for meat before they are past egg-laying age.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Most dire dodos live in captivity, but those who live in the wild are found in marshes, swamps and some isolated islands.
