Half Elf
Basic Information
Anatomy
Half Elves share most of their physiology with their human ancestry being almost identical in muscles and bone structure. The only main difference are they tend to be a bit slimmer and shorter and have slightly pointed ears.
Genetics and Reproduction
Half elves reproduce just like most humanoid races, and often have the same variety in compatibility with other races like humans. Because of the curious mixture between elves and humans (usually) they tend to have a gestation period of 12 months, but it can vary greatly depending on the other half. A half elf and human might be born after 9-10 months while a mixture of half elf and elf might take up to 13 months. Half elves who breed among eachother will make half elves of similar purity as the two combined, but in some cases can create even purer half elves, but they are unable to create a true elf. However, if a half elf does not have a child with another elf or half elf, the child's elven purity will decrease, granting them shorter lifespans and fewer elvish traits. If continued, this will eventually lead to so little purity in the elves' genes that they will begin birthing normal humans. This change often happens at the third generation of half elves, meaning the third generation after the last true elven ancestor or pair of half elves will birth a human with few to none no elven traits.
Growth Rate & Stages
Half Elves grow at the same rate as humans and reach adulthood at the age of 20.
